Update: Summer Journal entry #2 (Activity)
Summer Journal entry #2 (Activity)
An activity I did was going to the beach with my cousin who came to visit from Spain. We took her to see most of the beaches around the area and to the hot springs. One of the seven learning outcomes from CAS that I used on a specific day was showing commitment and perseverance in decisions, because even though there was very rainy and gloomy weather at our house (we had persevered through many rainy days and still got the most out of them and had fun despite the weather) , I insisted on going to the beach. The outcome of this decision was successful since it wasn’t raining at all in Avellanas and was a very sunny day, because of this decision we were able to spend a great day outside instead of staying home. We spent most of the day at the beach and had a lot of fun; this made me feel very happy and grateful for spending such a nice time with my cousin who we hadn’t seen in a long time. Some traits from the IB learner profile that reflect this activity are Communicator and Risk-taker because I effectively communicated my idea and my thoughts to my family so that we would take the risk of going to the beach without knowing if there would be a big storm or not.
