Summer Log 2

I am very proud of the success i’ve had in creating the Board Room into what it is today. Over the summer vacation, the only thing on my mind regarding this CAS project is how to attract an audience better, and get the community more engaged. Looking back on what really worked for me in the previous school year, was a workshop that I hosted, where students could help build the skateboards from the pieces donated to me by BlockSkate. Not only did it get a section of the 10th grade class engaged and involved, but I really do believe it got them excited to try the boards and become apart of this project in smaller, but deeper ways.

In light of these thoughts, over the summer I have gathered any specific remaining materials needed to fully construct all the skateboard decks donated. After a chat with the administration of my school, I would love to get a larger crowd gathered for this mini event, where I can kill two birds with one stone, get the community engaged, and get all the boards ready to skate. I am hoping this can all work out and fit within Covid and school guidelines, and i’m sure this workshop, similarly to before, will be a success.
