Taking on New Challenges

Taking on new challenges in CAS has been very apparent for the past couple weeks within the formation of my event. During the past month, I’ve been trying to figure out how to get sponsors and donate prizes for the dodgeball tournament. It’s been pretty hard doing so, since I don’t really have the confidence to go up to them and tell them about what I am trying to do. I’ve been trying to contact potential sponsors, but personally I feel like the way I try to advertise my project wasn’t the best way. I’ve sent emails, messages, organized meetings, so I am prepared but somehow I get really nervous and start to shake when time actually comes to meet with them. I know that I have to progress within the factor of CAS, since the whole point of this subject is to form good connections in order to make your project successful, which I am truly trying to do. Yesterday, I received a bunch of good news because we have referees already wanting to volunteer for the event, we already have the referee shirts, I am almost done with the prizes to give to the winners, so I am very happy to see my project moving forward. A challenge that will possibly appear during my event is the bad weather. In the case, if it starts to rain I would have to cancel and postpone the tournament to another time, and that's a huge problem because the area I am doing the event will be completely sold by the end of November, so I wouldn’t be able to do my event in my desired location. I truly hope that my event will figure itself out with the weather factor, because if doesn’t I would need to figure something else out very fast. Another scary factor of my project is the banner I will be using during my event, I went yesterday to go compare prizes regarding the large poster I will using, and they told that it will be probably expensive, so I need to figure who will be willing to help me purchase this item, which is crucial for my event to be considered professional and even efficient. The reason why I am talking to them is because I wanted them to make my poster with the design I created for a reasonable price, but it ended up being $125, so now I have to figure out how to pay for the poster or even decrease the price.*
