Terraza just recently had a game night even on Friday, November 15th, and it was a successful event in which over 10 people showed up to hang out and play a variety of different games which was the main objective of this event. Apart from the game night, we have been working on finding ways to promote the youth center differently because not many people are showing up to the youth center during the weekdays, which is on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 to 7 pm. Despite the amount of marketing we provide on the most popular social media platforms, there is still not a sufficient amount of people showing up to the youth center, which defeats the purpose of our main mission statement and what Terraza is here for. So we have recognized this ongoing issue for a while now, and we’ve decided to start meeting more often to find ways to either promote the youth center differently or to maybe change the location of the youth center due to the overwhelming price that is paid monthly for rent, electricity, and water. We also have been starting to promote for the Christmas themed dodgeball tournament that is coming up, which is taking place end of November just before school ends to promote Christmas and Terraza at the same time. Christmas is a holiday that everyone loves, as well as usually dodgeball tournaments, attract a large number of people, so clashing these two ideas of Christmas and dodgeball was an amazing idea in order to attract attention and get more people to come to these events and Terraza in general. Creating these events is a way to promote the youth center, and acts as a tool for marketing and making sure that these events really project what Terraza is as a whole and what the youth center stands for will get teenagers excited and want to come to the youth center maybe once a week. As well as planning for upcoming events during the holidays and break is very important, because during Christmas time, it is high season in Guanacaste in which a large number of tourists with kids come to Tamarindo, this is a crucial time where promotion and marketing needs to be taken place in order to attract more individuals to come during weekdays. Finally, we have been working on communicating with a variety of different people for volunteer work, so that when Ashley is gone, they can work as a monitor during weekdays and even during break because a lot of us will be gone during break, so making sure that we are promoting this need as well in an efficient way is really important. Marketing and Promoting is the main objective for the month of November and December!
