Terraza Meeting- Cata Gdvc

November 18, 2019 Terraza Meeting! Today the members of Terraza decided to meet so that we could plan new events and all be on the same page. It felt amazing getting to meet again with everyone after a long time of not talking. During the meeting, we were able to finalize details for the dodgeball tournament which is super exciting and we are all looking forward to it. We also talked about the space of Terraza and how the rent per year is a lot and is something we cant afford to pay unless we get donations from Sharky's. This is why Ashley brought to the table a new idea, she told us that she was talking to the owner of Sharky's and to try to solve the issue of the rent, they were thinking of opening a new space next to Sharkys. The space would be small and have an open area of cement where we could play games such as basketball or capture the flag. The place would be smaller than what Terraza is and it would be located closer to the beach and in a space where it would be more noticeable. Since right now Terraza is on the third floor of a building, it is really hot and since not many teenagers come to our events, the space is really big. We feel like having a new area would be better because it wouldn't generate as many expenses and we would be able to make a much comfortable space. Today during the meeting we went to the location, we all loved the space, it felt like a perfect spot to be able to start all over again and be able to follow our mission statement to our full capacity without the need of worrying about money. As a team member, I feel like Terraza could do much better from my perspective, we are not trying our hardest to make Terraaza successful. I feel like we are all really lazy and we are not taking this seriously. Right now we are losing money and we are not spreading our word. Terraza has the potential to be a great space for the community where teenagers can develop but I feel like we are not doing the best we can. I know every single individual of the leadership team of Terraza very well and I know that we are hard workers and we are capable of doing great things. I just feel like we are not getting the voice we deserve or the responsibility. For the upcoming weeks, I am going to try to work harder and try to spread positie energy to the team so that we can all keep working hard! Identify strengths and areas for growth, challenges were undertaken showing that new skills are learned, show perseverance and commitment to your project, work collaboratively with others, consider the ethical implications of your actions.
