This week after my previous reflection I decided that I need to do something to change my project to make it more engaging for all those involved. This process has been very fun yet very challenging. I have realized that I have sufficient knowledge and passion to be able to have these classes weakly but overall I have identified that I have struggled to make the classes fun and engaging, therefore, making it no be very effective. I want it to be something that people enjoy, want to come and I really don’t want it to be a burden on people. So this week through meetings with Miss Amy I realized I needed to take a step back and rebuild the structure of this class. I wanted to focus on how to incorporate the needs and wants of the people participating. So, the first thing that I did was ask the participants what they want from the class so I could understand what I needed to give to them to prepare them. After thinking about what they wanted and the resources I had at hand I realized that the most effective way would be working together to figure out what they want to do. The biggest issue for me was that I didn’t really want them to have to do extra work. This was also something important for the 12th graders as they are very stressed. An important aspect that we learned was the fact that the 12th graders all have the knowledge from business class to be able to get the information to create an insanely informative decision on companies in which they should invest in. So the conclusion we got to so that we could use their knowledge that they have as a way for them to study and for us to learn and be able to apply it to the stock market was to use their Steeple analysis from last year update them slightly and try to apply it to the stock market. Overall this class was a very helpful way to understand the needs of the participants of the class and come to a conclusion of what we should do.
