Transformations

This project has helped me transform local communities, especially Potrero into more sustainable places. Organizing clean-ups in Playa Potrero, and engaging the community and local public school allowed us to transform the community into being more informed on pollution, and understand the importance of not polluting. Transformation was also one of my objectives when teaching younger students about this same topic, as I wanted to inform and generate an impact in them to prevent the issue in the future. This was shown in the presentation to the fourth graders, and the mini-project with reusable materials organized towards the younger grades in the school. The project has transformed me especially with my skills. I improved skills that were a weakness beforehand, such as communication and organization skills. It also helped me become more perseverant. I always had to be committed and perseverant, for example, during the first stages of the pandemic, when I wasn’t able to do much for the project. This shows how CAS has transformed me into a more complete student and improved many of my weaknesses.
