Trimester #2

This trimester I want to restructure my project and club creating a more effective environment to build a community dedicated to my project where they are able to learn. I also want to learn more myself to find specific ways to teach my students that goes beyond the surface. My last goal is to initiate/prepare to create a budgeting/financial management course for my community. My goals this trimester are to #1 have long classes every other week starting on the week of January 18th – 24th. I also want to set a goal to have a virtual budgeting course on the week of March 22nd – 28th. Also to have at least two guest speakers come to talk to the class about investing. These classes are important as they will solidify the impact that I want to have and truly provide opportunities for those in my community to become more financially responsible. I will require extra time for most of my goals I need to continue to take courses on investing online, contact people in my community about outreach for the budgeting course, as well as finding volunteers to share their investment knowledge, and of course the time after school for investment classes. I will allocate this time by staying organized and making sure that I manage my time properly, scaffolding when and where work needs to be done. I am super excited to be able to reach a broader group of people this trimester, learn more about what I am passionate about, meet new people who have that similar passion, and creating a solidified project/legacy that won’t be forgotten. I am dreading the budgeting seminars because of all the variables in play. We are still amidst a pandemic so how would I be able to include all the people in my community, I could use zoom, but what about the people who don’t have access to a computer and much more. All these factors pose huge barriers and finding a way to tackle them will be difficult. My plans are to work rigorously and work with community officials to find the best way. I also need to be flexible and be aware that my goals may not be achievable in the current climate but maybe later. All I can ask for is support from my community and any useful advice/help would be gladly appreciated.
