True Colors Journal Entry

Explain, what did you take away from reflecting on your own personal color style and that of others in the group?
I learned that the color that you get from taking the test isn’t always the one that best identifies you, this happened to me because I got orange as my fist color and when I heard about the qualities I felt like that wasn’t me, but when I read about the personality of green and blue I felt like those described me and how I am the best. I felt like this also happened to other people in the class and I feel like everyone felt more comfortable after moving and the groups were a little bit more balanced.
What observations can you make about the type of personal styles that we
have as a group?
I feel like we mostly have oranges, and greens but there are fewer blues and very little golds. It might seem pretty unbalanced but some people probably have those colors (blue & gold) as their second in the rank and could also have a lot of the abilities or skills from that specific group. This helps our group be more balanced because everyone has their own mix of colors, and could feel identified with more than one.
Is there a complementary color to yours? Explain which one and why.
Yes, the color that is complementary to mine is blue. This is because many of the traits that form part of blue are the ones that I feel most identified with. These days I feel more like blue (even though green was the color I felt identified with) because some of the personality strengths are enthusiastic, sympathetic, imaginative, sincere, idealistic, kind, and those are some things that identify me as a person.
What are ways we can take this information into our work in class or in our CAS projects to work collaboratively in positive ways?
We can divide the work in a better way and take into account the skills, and to know how to motivate each of the colors. We should also try to create the work groups more according to the colors so basically trying to make groups that have at least one person from each color. This information also helps us know more about the work habits of each person depending on their first two colors.
