When I got my color I instantly felt very identified by its description. It made me realize things about myself that I don’t actively recognize, like my need for autonomy and how much I enjoy thinking/ having the answers. It helped me recognize strengths that I usually don’t consider first. I definitely agree that my main strengths fall into thinking, research and analysis. And even though I internally knew this, after reflecting on the color it made me realize that these strengths are higher and more connected to me than ones I might usually list first. Reflecting on my needs also made me feel better about the way I work and process things. It made me understand that the needs I have that I might see as negatives or impediments are just part of my personality. Identifying so strongly with this color and knowing many others do too is honestly reassuring. Being able to see my classmates’ colors and what they identify with also made me realize many things about them. Seeing where people ended up in instances was surprising and made me recognize certain qualities in them I hadn’t before. Additionally when joining the group of all greens it made me recognize I’m more alike to some of my classmates then I realized.
As a group I noticed we all fit into the different colors pretty evenly, I definitely see the characteristics of each color in my classmates clearly. I think this balance of different colors in our group allows us to all work really well together and bounce off each other’s skills to be successful and innovative.
I believe different colors are complementary to mine depending on the situation, academically I think the color that combines or I work the best with is gold. This was my second color and I think I work extremely well with these kinds of people, due to their organization and planning. But I also think that orange compliments mine well because it’s sort of the opposite of green. Green are thinkers and orange are doers. I’m definitely an overthinker and enjoy working independently taking things too seriously many times. So working and co-existing with these types of people helps me be more spontaneous, work faster, not think about stuff too much and have fun while working.
This information is important because it allows me to recognize the kind of people I work with the best and choose people according to what would best compliment me for different situations. Being able to identify these colors in people gives me a clearer idea of what they have to offer and how this can compliment whatever the work is. It also allows me to identify what I lack or should work on. This applies to my Cas project because it helps me identify who I can go to for different situations. This project has so many components in which I will collaborate with different people. Understanding this information will ensure that when I work with people I can identify what color they fall in to/identify their strengths to know how we can work together the best and most effectively. Additionally it can be of great help when choosing who I actually want to work with.
