Update all Wonderment

I edited my timeline, adding events that hadn’t happened or weren’t totally resolved yet. I also updated my budget, including the expenses from the coconut coir and my expected expenses over the summer for my camp.

One of the biggest lessons I have learnt throughout my CAS experience so far is the importance of being flexible at the moment while still holding on to a longer-term goal. At the beginning of my CAS process, I was completely unsure of what I wanted my project to look like and even once I decided to work with Devin I still wasn’t sure. From the beginning the idea of working with a garden was intriguing and I knew that I wanted my project to be at least partially related to agriculture. After many twists and turns, I have focused my project down to a specific path and have been successful on it for a little while. There were many times when I have gotten distracted by other CAS opportunities such as extracurricular football and the lacrosse camp. While these are still great activities to do and I am planning on following through on both they do not directly contribute anything to my long-term goal of raising money for CRR. My motivation for CAS needs to be almost all intrinsic because it is not something that is being done for me but instead by me. So far I have connected most with Pink’s theory. Having autonomy mastery and purpose are all things that come with a CAS project; autonomy, I have no one forcing me to do things for my project and I work on it almost exclusively on my own time. Mastery comes with learning and developing a multitude of skills that I otherwise wouldn’t specifically about agriculture and growing produce, and purpose is derived from the people who I am helping with my project. In the end, the purpose of my project is not to make a fundraiser or help plant seeds but instead to make a lasting difference in the lives of people in my community here in Guanacaste by utilizing my more affluent community in the US.
