Vacation Activity _ Grace Herman

April 16th, 2020 I've had a lot of time over vacation. I can't see my friends, I couldn't go on my trip, I can't go to the beach, so I've been bored. One thing saving me from my boredom is exercise. I've focused on two forms of exercise this break, swimming and running. The first week or so of break I swam laps in my pool every day. I soon got bored, so I had to find something else to do. I decided to run. Running has always been challenging for me but there's never been a better time to work on it. After a couple of runs, I decided I would start to time myself and keep track of how far I was running, hopefully improving my time. The numbers you see in the image are from six days where I ran in a row. Except for the second and third days, my time (per km) got better. I'm not the best runner, I'm not fast and I've just never been good at it so I'm working on it now. Its really fun, when it means you get to leave your house for a bit. I'm still working on my times and have started waking up early to run, it makes the start to my day way better. I'm more committed to running than I've ever been and I'm happy/proud of myself for keeping with it. I plan to continue to run in the morning when online school starts since it starts later and I don't have to take the bus. From this experience, I have learned how great it is to exercise at the beginning of your day and how good it feels to put work into something and improve.
