Video/IB Reflection

What are you excited about and why? For IB I am really excited for the challenges that will come in each class and be academically challenged constantly. Although this sounds a little scary it's something that I haven’t really had in the past few years in my school experience and am ready for next year. What are you worried about and why? Although I am excited for the challenges I am worried about how prepared I will actually be to handle the amount of work after I have had so little for so many years. I am also worried about how well I will retain information over 2 years to be able to be tested on. How can you teachers help you? Give 3 specific examples. They can always be willing to help. They should be willing to learn alongside us. Make sure that they are putting just as much work as we do. What strengths do you have that will help you with the program? I am very independent and resourceful so I can work independently and I am not dependent on other people to tell me exactly what to do. I also am a good communicator and can easily communicate with my teachers my problems and needs effectively. Who do you look up to that went through the program and how do you create relationships with them to support you through the program? I look up to both Conrad and Grace. I have a really good relationship with Grace as she is my sister and over the past year I have really admired how well she has tackled the IB experience and her ability to overcome challenges and how she never accepts failure as an option is really inspiring. COnrad I have known for many years and from what I observed from his IB experience was that he excelled in everything that he did but something that I admired from him was how balanced his life was and how caring he was. Because as a 7th grader he made me feel like one of his good friends and is something that I really appreciate. Its something that I only now am able to truly appreciate how caring he was. I aspire to be as caring to him to people who are much younger than me. What makes you prepared for CAS? What makes you excited about CAS? What makes you nervous about CAS? Something that has really made me prepared for CAS was really this trimester of preparing my project because if I play my cards right I will be able to start my project within the first few weeks of school. This is something that is rarely seen when someone develops a brand new CAS project within our school. I am really excited for my project because not only will I be helping kids learn more about investing I myself will be able to learn way more about investing. Although this project is really excitingI have this fear that nobody will come and that I won’t be able to create a good balance of attendees that really enjoy my project. Anything else that you want to tell me about your feelings about the IB DP. I am really excited yet scared for this next chapter of my life and am very glad for the teachers that I have and the relationship with my classmates that I have developed and cannot wait to create more throughout the next two years.
