Week 5 Reflection – HR Project
This week was much more about content, which allowed me to keep progressing on my knowledge of the HR unit. Looking at Taylor’s theory, I really started thinking of the differences between all the theories, especially between Taylor’s and Pink’s which are contradicting each other completely. This showed me how the different theories of motivation suggest different things, however they all look for the same outcome which is to motivate employees. The organizational structure content was really effective to understand the way in which management structures in a company and the different ways in which management works. This was business content that is necessary to know and I feel like I understood it well and the questions really helped me think about it and check if I understood.
By communicating with my mentor, I found out about two new programs they were offering; swimming lessons at 25% capacity and online Open Water courses (poster above). This allows me to have something specific to promote in the La Paz community and get more knowledge on what the organization is currently doing. I also received more information on how they are working with CEPIA, which is something I want to help with and I will get in contact with the person in charge of this project. The divergent thinking assignment allowed me to think and use creativity to start thinking about marketing and creative ways to promote. In general, it was an effective week, in which I learned a lot of content and kept progressing on my project.
