The youth center has been one of the biggest triggers for growth in my teenage life, I’ve learned so much from giving back to the community which has allowed for a place of growth and maturity. Wrapping up my project is a very emotionally draining feeling because the team that I have worked with that has been involved in this project is the main reason that I am the person today, a communicator, a team worker and an individual that handles responsibilities very carefully and effectively. I definitely think that I will be one of the individuals that will be recognized at La Paz for my CAS project, because this project was not only recognized because of it’s objective but because it gave back to the community through involvement of different communities and brought everyone together to promote peace and healthy relationships which is crucial to have at such a young age. The youth center will always be recognized for providing not only a safe space for teenagers but providing health when it comes to a teenager’s social life which is vital. This is what I will be recognized for, creating a project that has projected and gone against one of my main weaknesses, having an imbalance in my life. This project has projected the importance of maintaining a balance within your social life, and this has been an aspect that I have struggled with since the day I got to La Paz until I decided to help teenagers that have the same struggle as I do so I can work not only with teenagers in different communities but grow with these teenagers at the same time. It’s important that I maintain this balance in the future because if I am thinking of having a very hard career to pursue I need to make that I maintain this balance so that I can have a healthy life with a balance of a successful career and a social life where I can enjoy and have spare time to work on myself and relationships with others. Being isolated and having no interactions is the one thing that every human should try to avoid because it is part of human nature to interact with others. The youth center has been one of the only projects I am most proud of, so once I get to college and get interviewed, I will most likely mention the youth center and how it wasn’t only a project but it was a passion and a life long teaching lesson that has helped me grow and mature, learn on how to maintain a balanced life so I can be successful and apply this skill “balanced” to the future including at the college that I will be attending. Finally, this project has definitely had it’s downsides such as procrastination, due to the overwork load of the IB program, and how it has been hard to make sure everything is successful in each subject or field of study. Procrastination within this project has been a huge problem in the beginning and has happened over the last few weeks, but I have always found a way to manage my time and figure everything out because of my team and the support that they have given to me in order to make this project as successful as possible. The youth center has taught me self- management skills, teamwork and collaboration, communication and has allowed me to grow when it comes to being mature with my decisons whether it is in my academic or social life. I am so very glad to be apart of this project because it promotes a healthy lifestyle for a teenager.
