Update: What I have been doing
What I have been doing
Across the past few weeks, I have been working on investing in the competition alongside 6 other students. The process has been challenging but we have reached a point in the project where we are consistently investing more with a stronger strategy. The main difficulty was to get the ball moving but at the moment we are rolling. The unique part of this project is that the case study requires participants to consider global issues and also points towards encouraging ethical investing. Specifically for this case study, our "client" Nicole Jordan has strong values in creating equality for black people across the world. This has been essential when considering our investments in finding companies that share similar values and other related issues of global importance. Although this frequently is an issue when entering the world of business and money. It is far from contrary to see businesses and investors cut corners and ignore or encourage global issues to yield higher profits. This has required our group to consider the ethical way to choose a company to invest in. We have had to evaluate past, current, and future actions of companies to make decisions but can we take what they say to always be true. Overall this competition has exposed our group to large issues present in the real world and made us have to consider how we may tackle these challenges, preparing us for our everyday life as global citizens.
