Does your experience make you expect more from people or
less?
Working on this project has made me expect less from people, sadly. The culture within our team right now is not one of action. Terraza is doing fine but not moving forward. No substantials positive changes have occurred. We are stuck and no one is willing to push us to move forward, myself included. My current mentally is making me expect less from my team members. I don’t expect people to execute the work they have committed to and I don’t expect them to be there. There is little trust between us team members and between us and Ashley. She doesn’t trust us, we don’t trust her, and we don’t trust each other. So nothing is getting done and we are not moving forward.
I have been thinking a lot about how to fix this situation and have come up with a couple ideas. First we need to talk about it. We need to vocalize our frustrations and figure out how to come together as a team. Then we need to create accountability. This can be done through job descriptions and a board of directions. Once we move to these steps our organization should shift and if not we can us organizational culture theories to identify and rectify the problem.
We need to figure out how to work together so we can move forward.
