My goal is to create a Model United Nations conference at La Paz Community School that will teach students valuable life skills, foreign policy, and above all will be an absolute blast. My project will inspire students to create their own conferences, and will start a movement centered on peace, debate, and understanding
I love politics, writing, and paintball! I could spend all day learning about the dynamics and happenings of current global politics, and I have participated in a number of MUN conferences around the world. Politics may not seem very interesting at face value, but if you really take your time to learn it you find a dynamic system with conflict, peace, love, hate, and people. Writing allows me to blow off steam and travel to worlds you won't find here on Earth. And of course, paintball is an excellent way to work out, be loud, and occasionally get a few bruises!
What I Do:
I would like to become well known throughout (at least) the local MUN community. I would also like to see my conference run smoothly and professionally, where everyone is on the same page and knows how to do what they need to do. I would also like to inspire a few students who are interested in politics and instill the same level of passion I have for the subject. In the long run, I would like my project to be a model for future MUN conferences, both inside and outside of La Paz.
What I Want:
Over time I have learned how to write well; I write both fiction and non-fiction, and I am capable of creating interesting, entertaining stories as well as well researched academic papers. I am also a good public speaker, I have practiced calming my nerves and projecting my voice which has proved extremely useful.
