By the North, for the North: Cambridge Bay

Sunniva Sorby and Hilde Fålun Strøm, Hearts in the Ice, Cambridge Bay, Nunavut, Canada

“Hearts in the Ice- By the North, for the North” proposes a change to business as usual by equipping a core group of local community residents in Cambridge Bay with mechanisms for knowledge transfer to both retain traditional ways of life, culture and survival as well as training them on technology to capture data and observations.

To ensure success of this project the 2 women team of Hearts in the Ice will work closely with local Elders, youth and community residents by travelling up to Cambridge Bay Spring 2023 for several weeks as well as be based in the community several times during the summer 2023- spring 2024.
