Our CAS project seeks to support Elevate Movement Studio, a big representative of the art in our community. In the Guanacaste area there aren’t many spaces for dancers to express their art. Since we have both been a part of the studio since the beginning, we feel like we owe something back. We want to collaborate with Elevate and create valuable projects that will bring the studio to its highest potential. Through this project we will demonstrate the importance of showing gratitude to the artists that surround us and supporting the culture we are a part of.
My biggest passion is dance. Dance is on my mind 24/7 and I feel like it is a part of me that allows me to express myself and grow daily. Dance has shaped me into the person and artist that I am today and I will forever be grateful for it. It takes a lot of discipline and dedication to do what I love, but in the end it is all worth it. I love to take every opportunity I can to learn from myself, learn from others and teach others about art. I see it as a way to connect and make people feel something without having to use words. I have a lot of creativity, I like to take advantage of it not only through dance, but also by editing videos during my free time. Creating content that I am proud of and that I have dedicated a lot of time into makes me find a sense of achievement. Art helps discover unknown parts about myself that I can then use to help others find themselves.
What I Do:
I like to spend as much time as I can going to the studio and dancing. I like to choreograph, I enjoy having an idea and developing it through music an d movement. When I choreograph I feel like I can do anything I want and make something I am proud of. I like working hard towards my visions and goals to keep me motivated and inspired. I can take a small idea and make into something big. I am very dedicated towards the things I do: dancing, choreographing, creating, and editing videos are just some of the things I am most passionate about.
What I Want:
During this project I want to focus on spreading what I know about art to others. I want to use my skills as an artist to help dancers at the studio feel passionate and motivated about what they do. I want to help them find their identity as artists and assist them during the process. I want to listen to the dance community, their goals and what they need, make their dreams come true. My goal is to help the artists in our community grow and expand.
