What I like:
I like to bake for fun, I also like playing tennis and swimming in the ocean. The reason why I like these three things, is because they are so different and it allows me to have variety between the activities I do. The reason why I enjoy baking is because I like feeling accomplished once I have made something deleicious and being able to eat it with pleasure. I like playing tennis because I have to be active and focus on the ball, I like swimming because on a sunny day when it's hot, it's so refreshing and cooling to go into the ocean.
What I Do:
I want to better my communication, teamwork and proffessional development for my future. This project will help do this by working with my peers, kids and business owners, It will widen my perspective on certain things and will allow me to grow as an individual. I will feel like I will influence people to want to do the same and be seen along with my teamembers as role models to the community.
What I Want:
I think a skill I have is creativity. The reason why is because I like making things look organized, neat and pretty, during projects and school work, I also think I am pretty athletic because I like to do sports to stay in shape. For my last skill, I think I am committes to things I do, when I start something I want to finish it, and if I don't It will make me stressed out and perform poorly on other things, I like getting things done in the proper way.

Interviews

Interview With Nadja

What are our community strengths?
what I like is that everybody brings something to the community. It could be related to sports, food, new project that makes life easier and more enjoyable

How will the Youth Center create a positive change:
Because it will fill the void of teen interaction, so that the kids can meet new people and become more social between humans and not with technology.
What does this community need?
service based businesses, dry cleaner.
sidewalks.
A bigger and better gym.
What does this community have to share?
We share and exchange our culture heritage with one another because we are from different background and countries.
We are surrounded by nature, therefore healthier, in body and mind.
We are all about peace, because it's peaceful here.

Interview With Anna

What are our community strengths?
There is good education, everyone is close, and there is cultural exchange between people. Some good resources we have are sustainability such as recycling.
What does this community need?
Activities for teens on the weekends, school clubs, we need more social interaction between us teens and less being on our phones.
What does this community have to share?
Everyone knows each-other we are one big community and we love meeting new people. Most people came to our community and said they would stay a year and end up staying 3-8 years. We all exchange our cultural backgrounds and ethnicities thought different ways.

Interview With Henry

What are our community strengths?
good things about the community is the people, they are all aware of everyone’s situation and ready to help, another thing is the turismo, good source of money.
What does this community need?
Things we need to improve is the drug problem, not too many cops and the drugs are taking over and destroying lives, another thing to fix are the roads, they are in very bad shape, another thing is the Brasilito board of directors, they are all corrupt. One source we should use more often is developing, we have big empty lots that could provide jobs for the locals
What does this community have to share?
I wish the world knew about the struggle people go through and how we overcome it, the fact that we are always happy and pura vida doesn’t mean we have easy lives, indeed that’s pretty damn impressive, the struggle is huge, people here manage to make it through while still being very happy with their lives, because we are hard workers over here.
