Achieving climate justice

I believe that the biggest obstacle in the way of achieving climate justice is stubbornness and a lack of urgency within older generations. Many adults, that I know of at least, don’t see climate change as an urgent issue that needs to be dealt with as soon as possible, because the effects seem too minuscule or aren’t directly affecting them. They see this as an issue with its impact only being a problem in decades, possibly centuries to come. While the most severe consequences aren’t happening currently, this is our last window to keep those consequences from happening in the future, which will directly affect our generation and future generations.
A solution that is viable and effective is changing our main sources of energy, ranging from switching to biofuels for our means of transportation, and using nuclear energy instead of fossil fuels. There also needs to be an effort made by the general public to change how much waste they produce, opting for riding a bike instead of driving a car when possible, and recycling correctly as often as possible.

I agree! The generational divide is really stark. I guess that’s why I have so much faith in the progress that we will make once the youth run the show! Keep spreading the good word and advocating for the future you wish to live in!
