There is this one song “She’d Say” by Andy Grammer. Every time I listen to this song it reminds my of my Great-Grandmother. My Great Grandmother was a mean old bat, but she loved us sooo much, and always tried her hardest to do fun things with us (even when she got alzheimer’s and dementia). Grandma Barbie died when I was 13 and I miss her quite often, and when I found this song, it immediately reminded me of her. This song is something Andy Grammer wrote about his mother for his daughter. It talks about everything he believes his mom would say to his daughter when if his mom was still alive. There is one specific line:
“I could tell you she was quite the mixture
Of a mama and a shaman and a fiery pistol”
That was the line that caught my attention, Barbie was strong and had connections any and everywhere you turned. One thing she taught me that will stick forever are my bargaining and communication skills.
