the question are we alone carries a lot of weight in the sense that no one really has a definitive answer right now. The question can be answered by simply personal opinion like what the best ice cream flavor is because it depends on who you ask. Our intelligence has definitely come a long way and I think that it can help us make educated guesses as to whether or not we’re alone. Personally, I think that with the amount of space and galaxies that we haven’t the merest idea of what’s on them there are definitely other forms of life. However, I don’t think that this is going to change our lives in any immediate kind of way for a very long time.

Yeah, it seems awfully probably we won’t see alien life for several thousand years; dinosaurs have been around for millions of years and just happened to die from a meteor, have they met aliens? well, we wouldn’t know, but we shouldn’t worry if our species is gonna be alive to see them or not. At least, not for another few thousand years.
