Building out of recyclables

So many of our students love to build out of recyclables. Castles, dollhouses, chicken coops, swords, spaceships, ball runs - I have countless examples. Would this be something where they would create individual paths each time they decided to build something?

Yes!! There are a few ways you could incorporate this— you could have a “master path” that is something universal like “what is the most interesting thing you can make out of recyclables?” And then also if there is something super cool that a kid gets focused on, they could make a challenge path out of it (i.e. “Make the coolest cardboard castle you can.”

Have you ever seen Caine’s Arcade? It was one of the early foundational inspirations years ago for the Wonderment. I’ll post it in another response if you want to check it out.
