“Come inside or You Will Catch a Cold”

Many have the term, “don’t go outside you might catch a cold in the chilly weather”. Even I can admit that I too, thought that standing out side too long might lead to a case of the Flu or Cold. You can get sick from being outside, but not in the ways you think. If you are outside in extreme cold weather and develop frostbite or hypothermia these can weaken your immune system and lead to a cold or flu. However simply standing out side in chilly weather will not lead to sickness. In fact some doctors say it is better for you to go outside in cold weather, staying inside during the cold months could even increase your chances of getting ill.

That is very interesting, that being in cold weather actually makes you less likely to get cold! maybe it’s because when your body is colder, that it is more active, and ready to fight against illness?
