Free Malawi Of Poverty!

My sdg (sustainable development goal) is No Poverty. An sdg is a problem the world needs to solve. I’m focusing on the country of Malawi because Malawi is the poorest country in the world. And it ranks 162 out of 179 in the UN’s health development system. UN’s health development system focuses on the education, food, and health of countries. People in Malawi have about less then $1 to use each day or 2. They also don’t have much food to eat and schools don’t have enough resources to educate kids. Some kids don’t even live near a school. And some girls can’t go to school because they have to walk many miles to get water. And people are dying from HIV and AIDS.

People in Malawi are suffering from hunger. They don’t have much food because there are sometimes droughts which affects Malawi’s crops growth. Farmers are growing more plants when land is decreasing to grow crops. This affects the amount of food grown too. This makes only 20.68% of land arable (able to grow on).

There are so many kids in schools in Malawi, that there are not enough resources to supply all of the kids. Some kids have to share desks and materials. And some classes even have to be held outside under trees.

Many people in Malawi are suffering from HIV/AIDS. From 1985 to 1993, the amount of people with these conditions went from 2% to 30%. And today, almost 1 million people have HIV/AIDS in Malawi.

I want to raise money to build wells in the villages in Malawi so girls don’t have to walk to get water. Also raise money to build new schools and repair old schools in villages so kids can go to school. By doing this, kids will be educated enough to get jobs, and pay for food, medicine and they won’t need to walk miles for water to drink and grow crops. They might also be able to help with the global goals.
