When I turned 16 years old, I was surprised with a puppy and a cake. And yeah, the cake was beautiful but what brought that extra happiness into my heart was the small clumsy puppy running around our living room. Since she was just a baby, I had to take care of her as if she was a new born puppy for the next three months. It was very challenging as I had never been around babies or puppies, but it was a task that definitely made me feel like a mom. Ever since, I have considered her to be my daughter. From having a schedule for her food, to cuddling, bathing her, playing, running, going to the beach, taking care of her and most importantly treating her with kindness and love. She understands when I am speaking to her, asking her to do something and whenever I am telling her not to act or do a certain thing. These are characteristics that portray the kind of relationship that I have with my dog, where even though she is now 2 years old and fully grown, she will always be my baby and I will always be her maternal figure.
