hospitals in Space?

For there to be long-term missions and plans to live in space and other celestial bodies, there need to be great modifications in our technology. We need to be able to get supplies there without it costing a lot and also find a way for the astronauts to become semi-independent. The number of hospital supplies would also be very limited since they would not be able to get lots of supplies there and would take lots of time to get there. Emergencies could also happen and would make it very difficult to complete missions and other tasks. For these reasons, I believe that they need to continue to experiment and find solutions to these problems before they plan any long-term missions.
