My fear honestly sounds very dumb but I have had it for a couple of years. Currently, I am still trying to overcome it but it still bothers me to a certain extent. My fear is called Trypophobia. Normally, people describe it as a “Fear of Holes” but it is really anything like bumps or other patterns that are clustered together. Whenever I would look at something like that, whether it’s an image or in-person, I would start to sweat, hyperventilate, itch, and shake. Knowing this, I started to research the cause of this that way I can overcome it. According to all of my research, no one truly knows the cause of the fear but many suggest that it has to do with anxiety and depression, which would make sense for me. After figuring out a likely cause of it, I have been trying to overcome it by exposing myself to it more. When I look at them I try to focus on my breathing and tell myself that everything will be okay. I just look at them and practice what helps my anxiety. So far, it’s working! I haven’t fully overcome it but I know that I am almost there!

I find Trypophobia so interesting, that’s awesome though that you’ve found yourself making progress with your fears!

This is something I don’t quite understand. And I find it really fascinating! It’s interesting how a fear can be so seemingly illogical but actually feel really real! On my hike this morning I saw some holes in the rock and thought of this!
