Is there a pattern to tortoiseshell cat’s coat color?

My idea for an experiment will help figure out if there is a pattern between each tortoiseshell cat’s cur color. I will make a table that has each cat labeled as cat #1, cat #2 cat #3, and cat #4. There will need to be multiple cats (or pictures) in order to see if there is a pattern. Once I find the pictures I will draw 12 regions on each cats face in the picture. I will then assign a color to each region on the table (ex. region 1 for cat #1 is orange). Then once I am done, I will draw another table that has colors rather than cats. There will be columns for the number and color which I will mark for each region and a number for how many cats. After I am done with that, I will compare each cat’s data and figure out if there is a pattern. I can also use an allele frequency chart to figure out if there are inactive x-chromosomes, this will help me figure out why and how most tortoiseshell cats are female.
