Successes: Mark Dean was a computer scientist and engineer. He was already interested in building things and was a tinker when he was younger. His accomplishments were creating the color PC monitor, the Industry Standard Architecture system bus, and the first gigahertz chip. He was awarded the Black Engineer of the Year President’s Award and was inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame.
Challenges: One challenge he had to overcome was that even though he was African American, he showed everyone around the world that even African Americans can choose to be whatever they want to be and that nothing can stop them.

That’s really cool that he helped create the first color PC, since that’s something I know that I use on a regular basis.
