Metal or plastic?

On a neighborhood plog, wondering about the differences between metal and plastic trash. How long does each take to break down? Moments after I took this video, I actually ran into the neighbor and his daughter and son doing the piling, they were coming back to pick it up! Good to know there are other good ploggers out there!
