I joined the theatre program this year to try out something new and I thought it was fun there were definitely some people I didn't get along with but I also met a lot of nice people too. I think the theatre program at my school could get better at being more open to new people because I felt there were a lot of cliques even when I had friends who were already in theatre. I think it was because I wasn't really a "theatre kid" as I am not in any drama classes so I think they thought of me as an outsider but if we could get more kids who aren't necessarily traditional drama kids I think it could really boost the program.

It is great that you tried out for the play! I am glad that you found some nice kids that were involved and made some new friends. Unfortunately, it is sometimes hard for people to change – and changing their status quo – friend groups is uncomfortable. Keep trying these new experiences. I love hearing your perspective.
