To be completely honest, I am not the type of person who approaches fears head-on. I like to sit back and observe and if I’m lucky, avoid it at all costs. However, I think a time I have overcome fear is talking to my mom about my mental health. I was going through a hard time at one point and I wanted to start going to therapy but I didn’t know how to tell my mom because I didn’t want her to worry about me. One day, I got the courage and told her how I felt and we got me scheduled to start therapy and it was one of the best decisions I had ever made because it really helped with my mental health and it brought my mom and I closer together.
