Plogging and pens, what’s the story we write?

Pens are unnecessarily disposable. How did we get to this spot? What did we use before disposable pens. Just one pen has quite the lifespan, averaging 6,207 signatures, 5114 phone numbers, 971 Christmas cards, or 169 letters. And that’s only if it doesn’t succumb to the fate of being a discarded floor pen. A plastic pen, while small, adds up in the landfill, considering people dispose of billions of ink dispensers yearly. How can we write a new story line here... What else could we use instead of plastic pens I wonder?
