The longest I’ve gone without sleep is 48 hours, multiple times. This is usually because, like everything else, I procrastinate my sleeping as well. Since I was in 3rd grade I’ve been a night owl, and I prefer to stay up because what good am I doing if I’m asleep? But more recently, I’ve been having to stay up for nearly 24 hour periods every day these past few weeks in order to get all of my schoolwork from the semester done. Usually, at 24 hours, my eyes will start to hurt, I can’t focus very well, and I’m more sensitive to sounds and light. By 36 hours, I can barely focus my eyes, but sometimes I even have trouble sleeping at this point, which leads me to staying up for 48 hours somehow. When my sleep deprivation isn’t school-related, it’s usually because I get carried away with video games or some other activity and lose track of time.

Hello! Great job talking about how you feel when you go without sleep and how often you sleep! I relate a lot to not getting a lot of sleep, and I also happen to be a night owl.
