This mirror test has definitely created a lot of questions in the field of psychology. These tests question whether or not one has self-awareness. However, I don’t think that this is a very accurate test because there are flaws in it as there are flaws in almost everything but one of the biggest flaws that I can find in this is that there are different ways to show that someone is self-aware. Another flaw in this test is that someone who is blind would not be able to see themself so does that automatically mean that they are not self-aware? However, there are some good things about this test such as the fact it does help us learn more about how the brain works and how everyone functions almost the same but also completely different at the same time.

I like how you brought up the subject of blind people. Because a blind person cannot see in the mirror, there must be another way to test self-awareness.

Wow. Good point. ‘Everyone functions similarly:’ I wonder if there are some people or psycological atypical brains that wouldn’t recognize themselves but still have self-awareness, and how much deviance is there in the mirror test with kids who are younger (1-3).
