Why we dream

I have had a reoccurring dream. It’s not very friendly it still makes me worried. It’s really weird lol but I have dreams of my Bio-Dad kidnapping me. I’ve had this dream over 20 times since I was a little kid. It’s always in the same spot, Walmart, and he always has the same kind of car in it. The only things that change in the dream depending on the night are whether I escape or not or if my siblings are there with me. I talked to my mom about it and she told me she used to have the same dreams with her bio-dad as well. She suggested that it is something we fear. So that’s what I have concluded: I have a fear that when I visit my dad, he won’t bring me back to my mom and since I think about it a lot, I dream about it. Like I said, its not very nice but I have the dream ALL OF THE TIME so I thought I’d share.

Hi xburritosx, that dream surely must be very terrifying. I believe that the harder one thinks about something, the more likely it is to pop up in the form of a dream or nightmare. In this case, a nightmare. Maybe if you think about it less or try to think of it in a positive way, it will leave your brain and you can stop having bad experiences while you are sleeping.
