BIG LIFE 2012, the first 6 minute film from Big Life Foundation, shows the urgent poaching situation in East Africa right now, and what Big Life is doing on the ground to deal with it. The film features animal footage shot in Amboseli in July 2012 by Nick Brandt, and interviews and action from earlier in the year with Richard Bonham, as he and the Big Life rangers pursue poachers within the East African Amboseli ecosystem where Big Life currently operates. Founded by photographer Nick Brandt and conservationist Richard Bonham in late 2010, Big Life Foundation seeks to conserve and protect the animals and wild lands of the Amboseli-Tsavo ecosystem of East Africa. Recognizing that sustainable conservation can only be achieved through a community-based collaborative approach, Big Life nurtures the critically important relationship between the local Maasai communities and wildlife, to ensure that protecting the wildlife benefits all, economically, ethically and environmentally. Big Life's vision is to take the successful holistic conservation model in the Amboseli-Tsavo ecosystem and replicate it across the African continent.
