This week I have started the training of the dogs. I am going for an hour from four to five and in that time I will walk the dogs that need it, then after allocate the rest of the time to training the other dogs. This week I focused on a doberman that may be leaving next week. I have definitely not finished training them but hopefully the next owners can keep what I have started going and teach her everything else she needs to know. This has made me realize that this will be a very long term project, considering that these dogs know nothing, and they will need to be taught from the basics. I also realized that even though these dogs are from a shelter, they are not very food motivated, which is a good thing because it means that they get plenty to eat, but it makes training harder because they do not feel a necessity to eat and therefore are less likely to do work for food.
