Reflection:
On August 7th, a few of my friends, Jack, Caden, Jace, and Luca, all participated in a basketball game. I wasn’t able to play alongside them, though I still wanted to support them. I was able to use a professional camera to take photos of them in the middle of their game while they were playing. I’ve always been interested in photography and how everything works, though I had never had the opportunity to experience it on my own. I experimented around with multiple different camera lenses, modes, and filters and had a really enjoyable time! I believe I sparked some interest in photography that I would like to pursue further in the future as a hobby and form of self-expression,
Learning Outcome:
LO 2 Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process
Throughout the process of learning a very superficial level of skill in photography, I’ve gained new ideas and outlooks on art. I went into this experience with very little prior knowledge on how photography works, how cameras work, and what makes everything work/look good. However, with a very tedious effort of trial and error with the different settings, filters, and lenses, as well as utilizing what was learned from my previous art classes, I gained a new skill and interest in photography.
Involvement with CAS:
The photography is involved with my CAS project of the Coffee House due to the individualistic nature photography has on the viewer and artist. Experiencing it has put me into a position where I better understand the passion behind and how a person can become attached and proud of their product with photography. This experience has given me more respect and perspective on this art form.
