Vacation Creativity

This break I felt like I needed to make a change in my life, I didn’t want a drastic change, but I felt as if I just needed to switch something up. I wanted to go into this new year with something new and leaving behind the bad, so I thought I might as well do something I have always wanted to do. I thought about it for a minute, and it required my creativity to do which I don’t generally depend on, but this time I just did it.

This break I dyed my brothers and my hair. I thought it was going to be an effortless activity but I was wrong, it took time, patience and required my creativity. Neither my brother or I have blonde hair which meant we had to bleach it first and then we could apply color. Bleaching your hair is a long and very detailed process which requires a lot of work because the bleach is strong it can damage the hair, but it can also make it orange. We started with Sean’s hair, and it pretty much worked perfectly it was all blonde although we did have some issues because it was a little orange for a bit, we toned it, and that fixed our problem. He immediately knew he wanted to do blue, so that was simple, but it required a lot of my focus to follow his hairline and make sure that it was even all over. As for me and my change, I realized that I didn’t need to bleach my hair because I had parts that were already light enough. I choose to do pink that way if it failed I could hopefully blend it in.

In the end, this was a great experience because not only did it bond sean and I but it also provided me with the change I needed for this new year. Although the colors washed out pretty quick, it was still exactly what I was looking for and boosted my confidence in trusting my creativity.
