7 Learning Outcomes

Terraza has been one of the coolest experiences I’ve had in high school. I was able to create a vision and make it a reality, and that isn’t something most people have the opportunity of doing. Through Terraza I was able to gain so many skills that I didn’t have before the project started, and it has in a way made me the person I am today because I’ve learned so much and I really did grow as a student. Every little moment at Terraza will always have part of my heart and I will never forget the opportunity I was given in the first place or the people who were supporting us as a project. I was able to work with amazing people and meet new faces of the community that I will never forget. One of my biggest accomplishments at Terraza was being a leader of the community and working collaboratively by showing the community the endless possibilities we are capable of accomplishing. Saying goodbye to La Paz will be very sad but I hope people remember me for creating a safe space for teenagers and filling a void our community didn’t have. I know Terraza will continue its legacy and develop in amazing ways over the years. Moreover this project will show colleges the initiative I took in starting such a big project and being persistent over the course. It will also demonstrate our efforts in developing the center in ways that would allow the community to benefit from it. When I will be interviewed I will tell jobs or colleges, the opportunity I got to start a business and learn how to run one, I will also say I was able to learn how to fundraise money for good causes and understand the values we had as a youth center and the skills I was able to acquire from this experience. This will demonstrate how this project taught me how to not only be a better person, but in my academic and social life it was able to shape me and teach me things I wouldn’t know without being apart of the Youth Center. It made me a well rounded person, and I know that in my future life I will use the knowledge I gained through this and inspire others to find ways to make a change. Terrazas legacy will live on forever as will mine.
