This trimester Youth Taking Action was part of a beach clean up in Playa Potrero. This event was able to happen with the help of Holly Cippa and Connect Ocean. For this reason, I sent Holly an email as well as Sarah Travers that is part of Connect Ocean. For the moment, the youth team is trying our best to get donations for the Retirement Home in Santa Cruz. When Kati made a Facebook post about the event a dentist reached out to us and said he can donate toothbrushes. I am very thankful he could give us that donation since I called several times after he commented on facebook but he didn’t respond to them. It all worked out in the end, overcoming the challenges; his daughter Constanza was able to give us the donation. I used my communicative skills to reach out to all of these people that have helped Youth Taking Action become a project and team known in school for always working hard in improving our communities in different ways. Although I wasn’t able to reach the dentist since he deleted his comment from Facebook and couldn’t get a hold of his email; I was still able to thank Holly and Sarah for all of their help.
