Amanda- Journal Entry June 26

The first of June there was an event for the plantation of different types of trees around Brasilito beach. This event was organized by several organizations, one of them being Youth Taking Action and La Asada de Brasilito. We planted around 200 trees as well as doing a light garbage clean up with the help of around 110 attendees. Our project was able to donate the snacks which were watermelon and bananas fundraised by doing bake sales during snack time. I used the IB learner profile of communicator well since I stayed in contact with the other people that helped organize it of where exactly to plant or in what bags we will separate the trash. The profile I need to work on is the thinker profile since I didn't plan beforehand where exactly we will start planting and the right conditions of the ground for the planting to be successful.
