Amanda- Journal Entry September 24th 2020

Today, all the Youth Taking Action members talked about the next project we would be taking. Last time we did some brainstorming, however, didn't quite decide what would be our next project for the service part of our project. After much thought we decided to volunteer at Barbara's rescue center in Flamingo. All three members already have experience with animals since we volunteered in a castration campaign last year in which we learned to cut the nails of dogs and clean their ears properly in order to prevent ear infections which can be common for dogs with dangling ears. We made several drafts of the message we would contact her with and decided to do it through Whatsapp since it's the fastest way she can answer. I sent her the text introducing ourselves and why we want to volunteer. We also wanted to make a donation, however, we are not sure how we can fundraise money so we decided it was better to not say anything yet and when we do have money to make a donation then. What's left for us now is to be understanding and wait for her answer so we can schedule a day in which we can go help her out in the center.
