It was a very long and stressful process but its final result was worth all of it. Two local students from the Colegio de Villareal had an amazing experience visiting the Brookline school. They were able to have good connections with a variety of students from there and experienced a whole new culture while spending time with their host families. Due to this trip, these students have the ability to be confident with their nonnative speaking languages and have improved in them. Ashley, Diego, and I are now able to communicate effectively with these students because of the good relationships we made during the trip. They now are aware of how schools and living in the United States are like. This will now impact their future plan of possibly moving or creating a life in this country. As the leaders, we are able to gain the skill of communication and teamwork due to all the process that was done to make the project a success. The experience they had was unforgettable because of their smiles and happiness shown throughout the trip.
Mission Statement: Provide an unforgettable experience to foster students’ education on the diversity of cultures that will develop future skills.
This WEEK we will let our teacher ( Ms. Amy) know about our plan B project due to the very low possibilities of our Boston Trip happening due to COVID. We will let her know that this project will focus on helping a family that has a very low income and we will be the one providing them with some support. We will be buying most of the things to give to them instead of giving them the money that might not be used in the right way. This week we will have to ask some contacts to choose the family that we are going to help. I will ask Tatianna if she knows or has a list of any family that can be supported by us. After choosing the family we will promote our idea to the La Paz Community to get some support from them as well.
