Cata Human Resources Week 7

This week I learned about leadership and management and what the difference is between both of them. I feel like management is more about the job and doing it because you are told to and following the rules and leadership is more about motivating and doing it from your heart.
My progress for this week for the project has not been much, as I had to communicate with Tatiana and make a promotion to ask for donations from the donors of the Go Fund Me page. Donations are crucial for this project because without them we can´t sustain the baskets since this is a nonprofit organization and we work from donations. I got to call Tati and ask her about the donations and how we are doing and I feel like there is a bit of missing information because Tati thinks Tanya has all the information but Miss Amy thinks Tati should have it from the school. I might have to do some research here.
I am planning on sending the Go Fund Me link to all the emails from the school again so that people can donate financially instead of materialistic things. And sending out the thank you emails for people who donated and asking them to donate again.
This week I felt a little useless as I didn’t get to help with much. I had to wait for Tati to send me the emails from the donators and check the promotion email with her (so I am currently working at her paste). I communicated with Tanya on Tuesday and she told me that there was nothing else I could do but to send emails with the Go Fund Me Page link and try to get more people to donate (I am currently waiting for this). I wish I could help more but I don’t know what else to do besides the emails which is pretty boring and now I can’t assist the assembly of baskets because I have art at Sage Brush. I am currently feeling like I’m bothering more than I am helping.
I also feel like the canastas are going to have to keep going until a few more months because the cases are increasing and the borders are still closed and for that we need more people to keep donating, or to shift from the distributor we are working with to the one Simona recommended me to make them cheaper.
I don’t think I really grew as a learner this week in terms of the project but I did learn about leadership and management skills and I think I understand them more thoroughly. I feel like management can also relate more to extrinsic motivation as it is done to evaluate progress, scheduling work, monitoring, etc, for the businesses to be more successful and make more profit; whereas with leadership, I feel like it is intrinsic motivation as it is building teams, sharing a vision, being a good ripple model and I feel like this makes the employee being a leader feel a sense of motivation and appreciation from their team and just enjoy more work. On the other hand, as I didn’t get to do a lot of work for the project this week because everything is settled and Tanya doesn’t need my help anymore, I am trying to explore new platforms and ways to persuade people into donating. This is going to be challenging because as the situation enlarges, more people are running out of money and less are willing to donate because they want to save. Maybe I should target a new audience? A new community that doesn’t have a lot of people doing baskets?
