Cindy – April 15th 2020, Journal Entry #19
My dog Mally has been sick, she is pretty old but I have been taking care of her to make sure she comes back to the happy and very playful dog she used to be. She has a problem with her kidneys where basically she retains all liquids and does not expulse them normally. Therefore, she has to get rid of the liquids through her mouth. I created a schedule and did some research on what I can do to help her by myself since I cannot afford to internate her in a vet. The schedule consists of times where I need to feed her with a special food I need to make by myself that includes a certain type of meat and it has soup. Also, it has the times where I need to shower her, play with her and change her water to make sure it is always fresh. Throughout this experience I learned how to be patient and more thoughtful. I am super thankful for all the good things that I could find in the bad ones. Even though quarantine is up due to a serious problem, I appreciate that it has been a space where I can be more aware of the things I have at home, such as my family and even my beautiful dog Mally. In other words, there is always some good in the bad.
